On the way to Tawas

From Sandusky, we took I-75 562 miles up to Tawas City, MI. We scored a picture of the Michigan welcome center along the way, even in the pouring rain.

See how excited she is!
Passed out....lovin it.
Along the way, I wanted to see Detroit, so we took the highway through the city. Since it was raining and Court was sleeping, we didn't get out to see the sights. Plus, since "the sights" could be summarized by the picture below, we didn't feel like it was crucial to stop:
City Hall
Just Kidding; I'm sure it's a great city, but we didn't have time to take it in. (We'll rent 8 Mile when we get back to Chapel Hill.)

The weather cleared up, and we stopped in to see beautiful Bay City, MI. We have a friend from the city by the Bay, so we stopped at one of his favorite eateries--The Wanigan! The Sandwiches were DELICIOUS, and the owner, Ms. Pelletier, took great care of us!

Mrs. P!
Eatin' good in the neighborhood....
